Dorothea Dix Park didn’t plant them last year because of the pandemic, so it felt good getting back out there to shoot this year. These sunflower mini shoots are a lot of work (hello, summer heat and humidity in NC is no joke), but oh my goodness the end result is always beautiful! The Liu Family MiniThe Liu family is one of Becca's regulars who gave Ashley the honor of photographing them while Becca was on maternity leave. The kiddos had to face their fear of the bees, but by the end of the session Ashley was learning ALL about their plans for the day, getting invited to their neighborhood pool, and talking about our outfits. So sweet! The Duvernet Family MiniThe Duvernet family are some of Ashley’s regulars and they are always so fun! We’ve been photographing them since Amy and Steve got married. For this mini shoot, you can see that their little one decided on matching props for both mom and dad, and then a special wand just for her. How much do we love that fun addition to a family shoot?! It turned out really cute — hats, sunglasses, wands, and all! Alexis Hawkins Maternity MiniAlexis wanted to celebrate being pregnant with baby Hawkins #4 amongst the sunflowers. LOVE THAT! Her daughter hopped in a few images while the boys were busy checking out the sunflowers and asking to pet the fuzzy bees. (We do NOT recommend petting the bees, y’all. They don't like that. haha!) Fun fact! The new baby arrived this weekend, so you'll be seeing that newborn shoot soon!
