Wedding Story: Emily and Chris

e&cwedblog-0008

This wedding has been burning a hole in our pockets ever since we shot it.  I knew we had the updated blogsite launch coming up and this was SUCH an awesome wedding to debut with the new site.  Emily and Chris (engagement shoot and bridal shoot) had told us so many amazing things about their plans for their wedding day that we knew going in it was going to be completely awesome.  And it was.  Just SO much fun.  So much love and excitement and celebration.  All good things! Emily has an awesome sense of style and totally anticipated that mint was going to be the big color this year with these awesome bridesmaids dresses from H&M, along with DIY weather bouquets and boutonnieres.  This crowd did not have a single flower in their wedding and it was STUNNING.

Emily has this lively, loud and infections personality.  This is a woman that does not know a stranger and is so kind and caring to everyone she meetings.  Chris is Emily's balance - he is much more reserved and understated, but don't let that allow you to under estimate him.  The list of talents that Chris has runs a mile long - he can make, build, rebuild a whole host of things.  While Emily wears her heart for others on her sleeve, Chris' heart is equally as big and caring.  I learned stuff about these two all through out their wedding day that kept impressing me more and more.  And their friends??  I want to adopt them as my own friends.

Emily literally skipped/ran/danced down the aisle to her first look with Chris.  It was just such a fun scene to witness!  There were lots of giggles and happy tears and showing off of outfits...

The ceremony was held at All Saints Chapel, one of our favorite venues in downtown Raleigh.

Emily made these stunning boutonnières!   Can you stand it??  I think this lady needs an Etsy shop.

Emily also made her bouquet, which I ADORE.

While waiting for the ceremony to start, Emily and her friends played a game they like to call "Cheers to Me", which I had the honor of being a part of.  Seriously, these people are fun.

Before walking down the aisle, Emily had her Dad show everyone the socks she got him for the big day... "By your side, every step of the way."

The reception was held in the oh so trendy Stockroom, also in downtown Raleigh.  This couple had that place looking even more fun that it already does!!

"Zivjeli!" is an equivalent to "Cheers!" and is important to Emily's Croatian family.

There was MUCH music and dancing, thanks to Randy Bennett doing his thing (and Chris & Emily's people who LOVE to dance!).

We were excited to finally get to work with MacKenzie and Philip of Inkspot Crow Films.  These two are so sweet and easy to work with.

Oh had we been warned about the bouquet toss.  It is a tradition amongst Emily's friends that the bouquet toss get a little spirited.  And by spirited I mean borderline violent.  We can't share the worst of these with you because, well, when a girl gives her all to dive for a bouquet in a short dress... you get what I am saying.

Chris' friends took full advantage of the fact that Chris has yet to complete his restoration on this truck, so they went a little wild with the farewell decor...

I am obsessed with this shot David got of the newly weds approaching their sparkler exit...
