Wedding Story: Tasha and John

Twas two nights before Christmas... ok nevermind.   I was going to get all clever talking about Tasha and John's wedding since it was two nights before Christmas but I am going to spare us all!  :)  David and I LOVE to travel to tell stories so when Tasha and John contacted us about their Chicago, Christmas wedding we were stoked!  Had to go!  I was envisioning snowy wedding pictures but all Chicago showed us as far as snow was a few flurries.  Though Tasha was rooting for snow, that did not take away her wedding day smile!

How much do I love that John's parents were there to help him get ready?!

Even though it was not snowing, it still was extremely cold out... everyone had to be very brave!

I blame this creeper shot on Chase.  She made us do it.

We have got to take a moment to thank Steven and Chase (other shoots of them can be found HERE and HERE) for connecting us up with Tasha in the first place!  We met Tasha when she was a bridesmaid for Chase and Steven's wedding in October 2008.  Tasha rode with David and I in the car between the first see pictures and the ceremony and then she told us "when I get engaged, you two are shooting the wedding!"  It is always sweet to hear this but you never know how that will work out... plus the fact that we had not even shot most of the day yet, much less had Tasha seen our work.  But never mind all that, when Tasha and John got engaged we were the first people they contacted.  I love it!

Time to celebrate!  The wedding party took a trolley over to Chicago Botanic Gardens to enjoy their holiday light display.

What bridal party wouldn't enjoy running around a field of light orbs while it's 22 degrees?

We returned to a wintery reception at the Arboretum Club.

Table assignments on beer/root beer bottles=awesome.

Tasha and John had a Christmas tree set up in the lobby of their reception and had asked each couple or family to bring them a Christmas ornament.  I LOVED this idea as many times your first Christmas married you are short on ornaments.  There were some very creative ornaments collected.  If you forgot to bring one, they provided some plain ornaments for guests to decorate and sign while at the reception.

Late night pizza snack- all that dancing works up an appetite!

Circling up for the last song of the night...

Tasha and John!  What a beautiful wintery, Christmas wedding you two had!  We were so honored to be a part of it... I could have kept on blogging about it, it was so lovely!!  We hope your first Christmas married was oh so lovely.  Here's to an awesome new year together for you!!
