Wedding Story: Meredith & Eric

M&E0497s_650I have been photographing different parts of Meredith's family for a while now, so it was awesome to get to photograph something for her specifically. And what a special shoot it was… Her wedding day! Meredith and Eric were supposed to have gotten married in May but had to move the date because of the COVID-19 pandemic. There was a quote from one of their favorite shows shared by their officiant during the ceremony. It feels very fitting for their COVID-times, 2nd attempt ceremony...

“Sometimes the moments that make the most sense happen when everything else doesn’t.”

This couple has a sweet and easy love—they are truly such a good match. Meredith shared a little bit about their love story with me…

"My fiancé, Eric, and I met playing on a co-ed rec softball team in October 2017. My team was short on players and one of my teammates invited an old friend and his brother. Eric was that brother. We joked around and flirted during our two games that afternoon, bonding over softball and one of our favorite TV shows, The Office. I told him (and his brother) that I hoped they could play with us again and we went our separate ways. Later that day, I got a text message from Eric who had gotten my number through a mutual friend. Two days later, he made me pumpkin pancakes and we watched The Office. We have been inseparable ever since, most often spending time with our families, playing co-ed sports together, and hiking around Lake Johnson with our dog Bojangle. One the day Eric proposed, he invited his brother and some of our friends out to hit some softballs at our favorite nearby field. Before my last hit, he asked me to come look at the ball he was about to pitch because he thought it was broken. He had cut open a softball, taken out the insides, and put a ring box inside. It was a perfect moment for us."

It was so wonderful getting to capture the beginning of this new chapter in their love story.
