Personal Story: Vermont

Vermont was so lovely.  So very lovely.  We left 95 degrees in NC to be greeted by the 50's and 60's and the leaves already changing.  What a perfect way to spend the first days of fall!  David and I are fall people-- David's favorite holiday is halloween, mine is Thanksgiving.  We love the colors, the foods, the state fair, etc.  This also happens to be our busiest time of year, so we have to make sure we purposefully take time to enjoy these things we love the most. After the wedding in Vermont we decided to take a couple of days to explore Vermont in all it's fall glory.  What a good choice!

Here is the fabulous hotel we stayed at during the wedding festivities...

We started out exploring around the Warren/Waitsfield, Mad River Valley area (same area the wedding was in).  The colors were spectacular!  There were three covered bridges in the area that we had to check out, as well as local artisan shops and restaurants.  Vermont is really into using it's own food resources in it's restaurants and WOW it's yummy!

The next portion of this post is called "Drive-By Shooting with Ashley".... no seriously, I took these while David drove us into town.

On our second and last day off we hung out around the Burlington, Vermont area.  Isn't Lake Champlain gorgeous?  (all of the images from day two were taken on our point&shoot camera)

So David had me stand beside this gate and I happened to look down and saw a HUGE black and yellow spider in a web on the ground.  I am not a huge fan of spiders.  The whole time I was thinking "Ok, I make people do this all the time.  That spider will not bother me.  I make people do this all the time.  Ignore the spider!"
