Family Story: Joely’s Bat Mitzvah

Stephanie reached out about her daughter Joely's Bat Mitzvah in the fall. Following some precautions, they decided to have the celebration virtually and host a small gathering in their yard. All of the religious parts of the ceremony were performed via zoom with Joely’s Rabbi, but in front of her friends and family who were able to gather. She was so poised and did a great job reading her portions of the Torah! The support and love from her friends and family was evident, with many many smiling faces flashing onto the screen from all over with congratulations and waves. I loved that even her little brother had some nice words to say about his sister; it was really sweet! This sweet family made me feel like a guest and it was special to capture this big life moment for them!
