Business Story: Center for Architecture and Design
I had seen this super awesome, funky building go up on Peace Street here in Raleigh... I was SUPER curious as to what this building looked like on the inside and what it's function would be. I got a call a couple of weeks ago from the staff of this building, explaining that they had found me through Sally Oakley (an awesome wedding planner) and were wondering if we were available to do some photography to promote their building as a space to host weddings. Can't turn down an opportunity like that! What an honor!
It turns out that the building is the Center for Architecture and Design-- I mean look at the place, doesn't it look all architecture-ish? This space is AWESOME! If you love some interesting lines and modern spaces than this is a venue for you. Upon first glance of the building you might not realize just how many ways you can set up your getting ready, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. There are different indoor and outdoor spaces for all of these wedding day events. Plus the people that run this establishment are so very kind- I have loved working with them!
When you check out their wedding website you will see images from these two shoots I am about to share with you :) There is an open house for couples interested in having their wedding in this space on June 27th, 2012. We will have a table there as well as the other vendors you see featured in this post (and many more)-- we would love to see you there! Make sure you take time to register here.
Christy, the owner of the Raleigh branch of Bella Bridesmaids, not only brought some gorgeous dresses, she brought her bridal modeling A-game!! Watered Garden Florist did a beautiful job of the flowers while Sugarland provided some beautiful cakes for the shoot.
The main, large space has amazing natural light that floods in from both sides. You can open these tall windows and the double doors if you want natural air flowing in and out...
Off the double doors is the parking lot, which can house a tent for expanding the indoor space into the outdoors. So many options with this venue!
A conference room (with blinds that can be lowered over those windows) for the bridal party to get ready in or to just freshen up.
So y'all know we are all about some authenticity around here. While we were so honored to be a part of the styled shoot, I also had the idea to get one of our Story Photographer's couples to get back in their wedding day attire and do a love shoot at CfAD. Nothing sells wedding vendors like the real love of a newly wed couple! We were under a bit of a time crunch to get this shoot done quickly so I knew that Jenni & Clay lived close by and would be up to getting their pictures taken again... after balancing our schedules we managed to pull it off! Thank you so much, Jenni and Clay!
Be sure to sign up for the open house event if you are interested in having your wedding at the Center for Architecture and Design. Not only is this space wonderful, the people that run and work in this space are so very kind and super easy to work with. You can't beat that combination!
