Wedding Story: NC Museum of Art
Oh my goodness do I love photographing anything in the North Carolina Museum of Art. What an inspiring place to be! Art from so many different eras and styles... grounds that are beautiful and well designed... a staff that is knowledgable and awesome to work with. What more could you ask for?! I went into this shoot with the goal of putting a real couple in the space and letting the art guide what I did with the posing. I also tried to look at some of the more popular and more frequently photographed pieces and come at them from a different angle. That's what makes this venue stand out here in the Triangle - the art! Emily and Jordan (photographed by us here, here and here) were so awesome to get back into their wedding attire to help me pull off this shoot. Our awesome contact at the museum, Jennifer, led us around both buildings of the museum and helped us choose the pieces that were not only visually interesting but also spoke to the concepts of relationship and marriage. I really had a wonderful time and I hope Emily, Jordan and Jennifer did too.
Emily is amazing at hand lettering (check out and treat your self to her work) so it was appropriate to photograph her in front of a piece around calligraphy.
