Family Story: The Whitt Family

I had SO MUCH FUN photographing this family.  After I left their home in the Danville, Va area I posted on Facebook, "People, that was one of those shoots where I leave feeling full of energy and love for my job.  How could you not love photographing a family that really loves each other?"   It's true.  The Whitt family is FULL of love for each other and they have a good time showing it!

We had scheduled to do this shoot a month earlier but Leah (the sister who is in the lacy dress and had set up the shoot) contacted me to let me know her grandfather passed away the morning of the shoot.  He would have been a part of the picture above.  This family is strong and decided to reschedule the shoot for the next month.  I think it is so important to have these memories preserved with your family not only for when they aren't there any more, but to pass down to the future generations of your family.

Daddy/Daughter Moments...

This is authentic sister interaction, right??

Mommy/Daughter moments...

Leah and Abby were telling me stories about their grandfather loving to ride around on the tractors... had to honor him!

Abby and Leah's grandma said that this is how John Deere should market their equipment: three beautiful women!

Matriarch.

Mildred told us the story of how her late husband used to ride the tractors through the grass in the same spots and so she insisted that he put gravel down so it would not create ruts in the grass.  He decided to label this path "Mildred's Way" since she had gotten her way with filling in the path.

Thank you again, Whitt family, for inviting me into your home to document your family's story!  It was an honor and I had the best time laughing with you all :)

You all will see Abby as a bridesmaid in one of our June weddings and Leah as a guest!
