Engagement Story: Julie and Gian

Julie has been one of my avid blog stalkers for quite some time.  She could not be more excited to actually be featured on the blog--Julie you made it!  You are a part of a story on this blog!!!  Julie and Gian were SO fun to hang out with in lil Washington (NC) -- and we had quite the adventure.  When I asked Julie to describe what ideas for or what "feel" did she want to the shoot to portray, she said she wanted it to be romantic.  I think in the end, with a few surprises along the way, we MOS DEF accomplished romantic!

We started out at the exact spot where Gian proposed to Julie- completely surprising her!

Julie was a little apprehensive about being in front of the camera after having terrible school picture experiences in high school (aren't everyone's experiences with high school pictures scary?!) -- I reminded Julie that VERY few of my clients have actually been in front of the camera much and that I would try to make it as painless as possible.  HELLO they look super cute and comfy here!

As we lingered around the water's edge, we noticed a man working on a catamaran type boat on the shore.  I asked him if he would let Julie and Gian sit on the edges for a few quick shots... he responded that he had something WAY better that we might be interested in.  Wow was he right!  He waded up to his chest in the water and brought in not one but TWO gorgeous wooden boats that we could use in or out of the water.  OMG!  Romantic!

Julie and I were so beside ourselves that I think we said "Thank You!!!" a million times.  This man had to tell us to stop thanking him :)

Some photographers can't stand it, but I love lens flare.  I feel like this is exactly what it looked like under those trees...

Julie and Gian, I cannot WAIT to get you both in front of the camera again!  I had an awesome time laughing with you both and learning about you as a couple.  Here's to more romance this year!
