Welcome to Story Photographers, Martha!

Y’all, we are so excited to announce that Martha Manning is joining the Story Photographers team! She’s an incredible photographer with a ton of experience, and we just know y’all are gonna love her as much as we do.Here’s Ashley to give y’all the cool backstory on how this came to be and why she’s the perfect addition to the SP team:During Becca's maternity leave, I asked Martha Manning to second shoot a wedding with me. I have known Martha through the wedding industry for well over a decade now. Just like with Becca, Martha and I had traded shoots before! We were talking on our dinner break at that wedding, and it came up that Martha still loved photographing people so much after 18 years in the business (y’all, it's hard to find people that have done this longer than me and Becca who are still at it), but was just no longer into the striving that comes with moving your business forward. Interestingly, Becca came to me with a similar sentiment two weeks before my ex-husband moved out. Little did Becca know, when she sat me down to ask if I wanted to hire her, that she was about to become number 2 around here! But back to the dinner conversation with Martha… As soon as Martha started telling me this I just knew.I had watched her work all day and I was just so impressed with how she treats people on a wedding day. I always knew she did good photography work, and I always knew she was one of the sweetest people. But as I watched her second shoot at this wedding with me, I marveled at how hardworking she still is on a wedding day. She LOVES meeting new people; going the extra mile to help people feel seen and supported. Martha keeps a smile on her face and keeps everyone smiling around her. Not only does she do that with our clients, she also did it with me; making sure I had water and checking if I needed her help with anything else.I started out this photography business just photographing people under my own name. When it came time to get serious about building a brand, I remember wanting to choose an actual name for the business so if we grew, the people I worked with would feel equally as important and represented. When Martha started telling me how she felt, after I watched her work, I knew that bringing her on was the next right move for her and us. We have continued to have steady growth over the years, and I want to bring the Story Photographers style of photography and service to anyone that wants to experience it.
