Family Story: The Pugh Family
Daniel and I went to middle school together. At that time, he was the guy that talked all the time and buzzed around you like an annoying little brother (except he's technically older than me) with a heart of gold. He was so incredibly kind that it out-weighed the little-brother affect and you couldn't help but be friends with him. We ended up going to high school together and we met Ashley - there were so many of us Ashley's in our graduating class - and my goodness, this girl was just good as gold. Ashley is one of those warm souls who is so positive and nice and loving and you just can't help but be her friend. Like boys do, Daniel grew up and Ashley saw him a different way. And while he maintains his youthful spirit, the kindness in his heart has just multiplied, and Ashley is still that bright, kind place in a room full of people. They are both in the business of helping people, in their own specific ways, but the fact that they grew up to help people does not surprise me. And then they went and created these three little people. It's SURREAL to see little Daniel's and Ashley's running around. I loved every minute chatting with their boys, trying not to laugh over smile negotiations (similar to hostage negotiations - "I will hand over my smile and my cooperation IF AND ONLY IF you give me...") and watching their latest addition giggle sweetly at her big brother's antics. All and all, it was a lovely morning with the Pugh Family.
