Family Story: The Liberto Famliy

This is one loved family right here.  I grew up with Jenna and her family, and we were honored to shoot their wedding back in 2008.  Jenna and Jeff got pregnant with twins this year, and all was well until around 21 weeks… one of the twins was not growing at the same rate as the other.  With all the complications, the babies were born early at the end of October, one at 1 lb 8 oz, the other at 4 lb 2 oz.  I got to come in when they were a month old, and a little bigger and much stronger, to tell the story of this time in their lives.  Now one of the twins is home and the other is making amazing progress.  You can learn more about their story and how you can support them at their Caring Bridge Site.  I said it on Facebook the day of the shoot… my camera has taken me many places I had never been before, and the NICU at UNC-CH children's hospital is one of them.  It's a sobering yet hopeful place to be.  To see all of these nurses caring so well for these teeny tiny babies… these babies that are doing their best to fight for their lives, to grow stronger and to get to go home.  To see parents spending countless hours rocking their babies attached to the many machines that are helping make their babies bigger, stronger and healthier.  Jeff and Jenna, you two are so brave and blessed and surrounded by people that love you so very much.  Thank you for this honor.
