Family Story: Mackenzie is a Senior!
Mackenzie is a senior, y'all, and headed to Appalachian State in the fall! She came in strong with cool outfits, fun ideas, and an awesome spirit of being down for whatever fun thing we found along the way for her senior portraits. We shot at Historic Oak View Park, JC Raulston Arboretum, and NC Museum of Art, and I love how Mackenzie found comfort in each place. At Historic Oak View, we laughed that she was Snow White or something because the animals were drawn to her. Carpenter bees would whimsically hover around her then fly away. The goats would follow her along the fence and lick her. IT was a little magical and silly in the best of ways. One of my favorite moments was when we were at the NC Museum of Art park shooting around one of the more recent installments, "Open Mind (Barricades)." I LOVED all that was going on visually there with the lines of the piece and the lines of Mackenzie's outfit. And, as I've shared before, I love the growing trend of also grabbing a few pictures of seniors with their family. Mackenzie's parents surprised her with this, having her dad show up at the end of the shoot. How sweet is that?!
