Commercial Story: Project Athlete

Project Athlete is an apparel line "created by Olympians, worn by everyone." Created by professional soccer player Stephanie Labbé and professional alpine skier and track cyclist Georgia Simmerling to inspire athletes everywhere to not take life to seriously -- from those on pro fields to rec league champions.They have both worked hard through injuries and various setbacks - I would say they are pretty badass.I was connected to this shoot through my work with the NC Courage -- the team for which Labbé now plays goalkeeper. Labbé has played soccer in two world cups and the 2016 Rio Olympics. She's played soccer professionally in Canada, Sweden and the United States. Georgia Simmerling is the first Canadian to have competed in three different Olympic Games (2010, 2014 and 2016) in three different sports- Alpine Skiing, Ski Cross, and Track Cycling.  She's competed in various World Cups and World Championships across these sports.I also loved that they were low key representing brands that sponsor them like New Balance and Big Rock Brewery in addition to their own new project.
